The Project
Our client was responsible for excavation, bioremediation, and groundwater treatment, all within a tightly constrained site. This complex project is fully supported by an operational on-site liquid treatment system to empty the historic tar tank, involving demolition, excavation, sheet piling and mid-level ground anchoring.
The Solution
TerraTank supplied a TT20, two TT70 and three TT40 nurse tanks to provide a modular, plug & play, scalable storage system of 280,000 litres, enabling construction works to start on-site. Due to the site being a tightly constrained environment, TerraTank’s Ro-Ro self off-load mobilisation method provided the client with flexibility for precise site optimisation.
The Result
The long-derelict gasworks site is in the process of being transformed into a green and welcoming community, with a restored historic gasholder built between 1829 and 1830 and believed to be the oldest surviving in the world being a historic centrepiece, alongside 1800 homes and more than 100,000 square feet of commercial and community space for restaurants, bars, shops and offices.
